Last year, various Chinese smartphone makers like Xiaomi and OPPO debuted in the Indian market. Now the latest China-based brand to enter the country is MEIZU, a brand popular for offering compelling specifications at a budget price tag. The company launched its first smartphone, the MEIZU m1 Note in the country. The brand has partnered with Amazon to sell its devices in India via open sales without any pre-registrations. The vendor’s first device, the m1 Note is an affordable 4G LTE-enabled Android phone. Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 4G is among the few devices in the country to directly compete against the MEIZU m1 Note.

The MEIZU m1 Note is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor that offers 64-bit computing. The device is equipped with 2GB of RAM and a Mali T760 MP2 graphics processor. The Redmi Note on the other hand is loaded with a 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, aided by an Adreno 305 GPU and 2GB of RAM. On the performance front, both smartphones deliver almost similar experience. However, the m1 Note is equipped with 16GB of internal memory, while the Redmi Note 4G only houses 8GB of flash storage. On the software front, the m1 Note runs Android KitKat-based Flyme 4.1 OS, and the Redmi Note runs MIUI 6 based on Android KitKat.
